This Vegan Tuna Salad is made with cooked chickpeas and absolutely delicious! Dolphin-safe, tuna-free, and void of any major ocean contaminants! It’s sure to be a hit with the family and even non-vegans.

I kept it as simple as possible with only 5 ingredients. The kelp granules really give it the “tuna” flavor, but you can also use diced up nori or seaweed snacks. Kelp granules can be ordered on Amazon or carried at most local grocery stores like Sprouts.

If you don’t have vegan mayo on hand, you can substitute olive oil in this recipe. I recently picked up the Chosen Foods Vegan Mayo and enjoy it in recipes like this.

Vegan Tuna Salad

This Vegan Tuna Salad is easy to make and absolutely delicious! Serve it on a sandwich or with some crackers.

  • 1 cup cooked garbanzo beans drained & rinsed
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp vegan mayo
  • 1 tsp kelp granules
  • 1 tbsp relish


  • Combine garbanzo beans, lemon juice, vegan mayo, & kelp granules in a blender or food processor. Pulse until desired consistency. (You can also use a fork and mash ingredients together.
  • Add relish and mix until combined. 
  • Serve on a sandwich, with crackers, or eat on it’s own!
